((Kar is a terrible double-poster because Rocura WON'T REPLY...))
Kar stood in silence beside his friend. Both seemed lost for words. No one said anything for the longest time. ((for several months actually...)) He broke the silence. "We're two strangers in-- well, a strange city, followed by a strange man, with nowhere to stay, no one to ask for help and no idea where we are..." Kar sighed slowly. "... and the sky is getting dark." Kar slowly sunk to the ground. "What a situation we're in. I mean..." Kar gestured sarcasticly to the narrow alley they stood in. "Here is as good a place as over in that alley or the next. A few crates would be good of course, but I suppose we could make do." He leaned back against the wall and groaned. Of all his predicaments, this was the worst. He suddenly wished he'd never left home. Of all places he could be, this alley was the last place, and the fact that he was with a girl, a runnaway girl, only made things worse. Well, not much worse. It would be much, much worse if he were alone. But sleeping arangements... Kar shuddered inwardly at the awkwardness of it. He looked up at the sky. There was no time left to look for someplace new. Here would be the only place they could-- would have to stay. He looked up at Rocura, devoid of any answers, unsure of what else to say. He gestured deftly and looked away, embarassed.

((Shameless double poster!!!!!!! *eats face off* Hehehe, jk elohel!))
Rocura smiled at Kar's awkward speech. She looked up at the sky, it was getting dark, and she had used up more money than she had hoped at the last tavern. Finally, after a deep sigh she crawled over to the wall, near Kar and leaned next to it with him. Stealth curled into her lap and shut his eyes. "A good night's sleep would be nice." Rocura admitted, but she didnt even bother to rest, her mind swirled with questions that could and could not be answered, her eyes continually darting around, incase that man ever came back. She couldnt let anyone sneak up behind them again, ever.

Kar looked at Rocura, but looked away quickly again. His arm throbbed. His head hurt. He was tired and lost and angry. Angry that he was here. Angry that he wasn't back home, warm at the hearth. Angry... Angry at someone. But who? Kar felt suddenly that someone needed to be blamed... a vengeful hate rose up in him, but took no grasp. There was simply no one to hate. No one to blame but himself. Or was there? Could there possibly be someone out there orchestrating this? A sudden idea struck him. "Rocura" Kar said suddenly after a long silence "Does the king in Umar have any rivals... I mean, you were a servant at the castle, and maybe i was thinking that, well usually, you know, servants and stuff know things, about the castle and ruler and such, but I was thinking, that since you were..." Kar struggled to voice his idea, awkwardly mumbling. "I just thought that maybe if you knew things about the king in Umar that others didn't, maybe like, any of his secret rivals or enemies or... " He trailed off. And stared at the wall across the alley away from Rocura. He sounded like a fool. How and why on earth would any secret rival of the king of Umar track them down? His revelation made little sense. Except... Except that maybe there was someone who knew Rocura. Maybe he knew that she would know the castle in Umar. Maybe he knew that she would know the royalty. Maybe he was planning to overthrow Umar with her help. Maybe. Kar sat silently. Thinking. Wondering, waiting to see if Rocura would respond.
